German and French governments warn against using Internet Explorer

I just received an email with a couple of links which show news articles on the BBC news website warning people against the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The governments concerned represent 147 million people, which, I guess adds to a weight of opinion.

What makes all of this a bit worse is that Internet Explorer seems to be such an integrated part of the Windows operating system.

My choice of internet browser is Mozilla Firefox, followed in order by Safari and Google Chrome
