In a few days I am going to be seeing someone to do a demo of a solution based on Lotus Notes. The people I am going to see are completely new to Lotus Notes, but are try to run a company whereby people travel a lot.
The question was asked
Will you need to bring a server with you?
I had to have a laugh to myself before answering. The great thing about a Lotus Notes application is that you are able to replicate the application onto a Laptop and take it with you. Then you do your work and when you machine is able to connect back to the server at the office, it is able to sync (or as Lotus calls it, replicate) the data.

good luck on the deal!
Pull out a USB running Domino and say no it’s all here.
Luckily if you did need a server it will run on nearly any piece of hardware thrown at it.
I like to remind people it runs on so many platforms who needs Windows, everyone has a p or i series
One bit of advice
Don’t try and do this on a database that has roles assigned unless you have a condensed directory on the laptop. Especially if a consistent ACL is enforced on the DB
